How do I make an appointment for assessment?
Contact with the Capri professional staff starts with a free and confidential screening appointment. Call (09) 527-6090 for a no obligation appointment with a Senior Counsellor or the Clinical Director. At this time you can discuss admission or other treatment alternatives with Capri or other community programmes.
Does Capri offer formal assessments?
When requested, the Capri professional staff will provide a comprehensive assessment and formal written report for lawyers, courts, community probation, employee assistance programmes and other authorized agencies. The client must give written permission to release this type of information and there is a charge for this service.
How long will I have to stay at Capri?
The Capri programme is based on individual treatment planning after a comprehensive assessment, however in most cases clients average three to five weeks residential treatment.
Does Capri have individual counselling?
In addition to other structured activities, one hour of professional individual counselling is provided three to four times a week by a senior counsellor.
Is Capri certified to treat addiction and other problems?
Capri Trust is certified by the New Zealand Ministry of Health, as a Residential Disability Services provider: Psychiatric and Physical.

Is adolescent treatment offered?
No, except in unusual situations only clients over the age or 18 are admitted. Capri has been designed to treat adults in an adult environment.
What are the qualifications of the staff?
All Capri treatment staff are highly qualified professionals including a Social Worker, Teacher, Consulting Psychiatrist and Adolescent Psychologist , Certified Addiction Counsellors (CAC) and on-site Physician that have up to 38 years experience in the addictive disease treatment field.

Does Capri offer medical detoxification?
Capri offers safe medical detoxification through our on-site Physician and Consulting Psychiatrist.
Can you help with ''P''?
Methamphetamine, ''Pure,'' ''P,'' or crystal meth, can be effectively at Capri as featured on the 'Chasing the Ghost' TV documentary.
Does Capri treat eating disorders?
After a full and comprehensive assessment most types of eating disorders can be treated at Capri.
Do you treat family problems and ''co-dependency''?
Yes, many family members have found Capri a life changing experience. One ''Family Group'' weekly is available to all client families. Some family members may have family issues, ''co-dependency'' problems requiring more careful and extensive treatment. After assessment and evaluation Capri may provide residential treatment for family related issues as required. We also have a weekly Children's Group for 5 - 12 year olds who are children or siblings of clients.
Will my family get any support and counselling?
One weekly family group is provided for family members, including children, Wednesday nights at the same time as the ContinuingCare Client meetings. Families often join the Capri family for ''a meal" at 5.30pm and stay for the 6.45pm meetings. Special family counselling can be arranged by appointment.
Can I get help with a gambling problem?
Capri provides highly successful treatment for compulsive gambling. A three to five week programme is available with one year weekly follow-up meetings
Does Capri endorse Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), NA, GA, Alanon and other self help groups?
The twelve steps as first developed by AA are a part of all Capri individual treatment programmes. Clients attend meetings along with recovering staff and former clients.
