Long Term Care
New published research shows that some people require longer-term care than most treatment programmes currently provide. A safe and supportive living environment is necessary for consumers on leaving treatment. Time away from dealers, using friends, and stressful conditions is essential for successful recovery.A goal for many extended care consumers will be to get ready to return to productive work. Many consumers will have or be helped to obtain employment. These consumers will do morning meditation with the other consumers and then go to work for the day. Other consumers will be helped in job training or returning to school or university.
An individual Continuing Care Plan will be developed by the clinical team for extended care consumers just like primary consumers. For many extended care will be just what it is, an continuation of their original treatment plan. They will continue to have access to their primary counsellor as needed or once a week. Consumers will attend the Intensive Outpatient meetings on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.
The cost of Extended Care is $1500+GST per week with a minimum length of stay of one month. This is non-refundable if a person leaves before the end of the month.
Specific terms and conditions will need to be discussed with the treatment team.
